As opposed to traditional Wifi, Zigbee carries out small quantities of data within a short distance. Due to this, the technology requires less power than modern wifi technologies. Even though it has been out for over a decade, not many people are aware of this technology. The cause for that may be because of the lower data-transfer speed. Zigbee is designed in a specific way where each node in the network is connected with one another. The problem with this is that the nodes can interfere with one another because they are using the same Zigbee chips. Hence, they will not be able to operate with one another.
The applications of the Zigbee include broad-based deployment which is very useful for companies that require many devices that need wireless networks.
