The capacity of 5G is much more than that of 4G. 5G standards divide frequencies into two groups: FR1 (450 MHz – 6 GHz) and FR2 (24 GHz – 52 GHz). The FR1 space will see the majority of early deployments. The use of FR2 frequencies, also known as extremely high frequency (EHF) or millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies, is still being researched. While 6G is planned to be a successor to 5G cellular so it will be faster and more efficient than the 5G. 5G is deployed in numerous countries of the world while as discussed before 6G is under development and has launched testing satellites and is planned to be one step further.
The new generation of cellular networks will be transformative, allowing numerous new applications that are currently unavailable to implement, in so many areas, especially in urban areas and cities. Consumers, businesses, industries, and cities will all profit from dimensions of the new cellular technology like 5G & 6G which will be used in a variety of ways by forming smart cities, having autonomous vehicles, smart traffic control, law enforcement, facial recognition, etc. A cellular network also referred to as a mobile network, could be a communication system within which the connectivity between end nodes is wireless. Cellular 4G/5G/6G are the generations of cellular networks.
Cellular 4G, can be simply defined as the fourth generation of the cellular network which was launched in 2009 and is very fast as compared to the previous generations ( i.e.; 1G, 2G, 3G). Now while we talk about 5G, it is the fifth generation of the cellular network and is the planned successor to the 4G and started being deployed in 2019 by telecommunication/ cellular network companies. While 6G is currently under development and is the sixth generation of cellular networks for wireless technologies. It will be significantly faster than the 5G and the other generations.
Cellular 4G/5G/6G have great potential because of their current applications and the ones which are under process. Some of the most famous applications and use cases are; Industrial automation, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), Drones for equipment inspection, high-range tracking of assets, and better ability for real-time analytics.
